Description

Please keep Colette Metcalf in your thoughts and prayers. She has major eye surgery scheduled for tomorrow (Friday). Although it’s “routine”, it can get complicated. It is NOT corrective vision surgery like LASIK. Colette knows I’m mentioning this in my post today.

F9, 1/13 sec, ISO 400, 24mm focal length. 5x graduated ND filter.

Kenneth is right: this is stunning, even in the thumbnail! The larger patters of light/shadow, color/black and white work so well to enhance the composition here, Ken. I love the way the sunset is almost contained in a dome of darkness, the way the trees and building frame the scene, and the detail--like the the distant plowed field under the powder snow. The Tetons are magnificent, but this shot gives them a run for their money. #4108202
